How do I book a cruise?
The easiest way is to book directly through our online booking system — just click any “Book Now” button on the site. You can also call us at 202-703-1141 and we’ll get you set up. Your reservation is confirmed once payment is received.
How much do your cruises cost?
Our private cruises start at $1,500 for a 2-hour DC Discovery Cruise for up to 6 guests. Pricing goes up to $15,000 for full custom charters and special events. All cruises are private — your group has the entire vessel to yourselves.
See our full pricing on the Our Cruises page.
What is included in the price?
Your cruise price includes the private charter of Geronimo, your USCG-licensed captain, and a fully narrated tour. You bring your own food and drinks (see below). Gratuity for your captain is not included and always appreciated.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes! A Reflections DC cruise makes an exceptional gift — for birthdays, anniversaries, visiting family, or any special occasion. Call us at 202-703-1141 to arrange a gift certificate.
Can I customize my cruise?
Absolutely. Every Reflections DC cruise is private, so your captain can tailor the experience to your group’s interests. Want to focus on a particular set of monuments? Prefer a slower, more relaxed pace? Planning a special moment on the water? Just let us know when you book.
Do you offer custom or extended charters?
Yes. For groups with specific requests — corporate outings, milestone celebrations, full-day experiences, or anything out of the ordinary — we offer custom charters from $7,500 up to $15,000. Contact us directly at 202-703-1141 to discuss your event.
What sights will we see?
Your cruise covers DC’s most iconic waterfront, including the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Arlington Memorial Bridge, the Pentagon, Tidal Basin, Georgetown Waterfront, the Kennedy Center, Theodore Roosevelt Island, Key Bridge, the Watergate, and the full stretch of The Wharf. Your captain will point out much more along the way — including plenty of things even long-time DC residents have never noticed.
How many guests can come?
Geronimo comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests. All of our cruises are 100% private — no other passengers, no shared experience.
Is this a good experience for kids?
Absolutely. Kids love being out on the water, and our captains are great at making the history come alive for younger guests. Children under 13 are required to wear a life jacket, which we provide onboard.
Are pets welcome?
Yes — well-behaved dogs are welcome aboard Geronimo! Just let us know when you book so we can plan accordingly.
Is the cruise narrated?
Yes. Your captain provides a full live narration throughout the cruise — not a pre-recorded script. Expect local history, personal stories, and plenty of insider knowledge about DC’s waterfront. This is one of the things our guests consistently rave about.
Can we just enjoy the ride without a full tour narration?
Of course. If you’d prefer a quieter, more relaxed experience on the water, just tell your captain and they’ll dial it back. Your cruise, your pace.
What kind of boat is Geronimo?
Geronimo is a Mainship Pilot 34 — a classic Downeast-style vessel inspired by the timeless workboat traditions of coastal Maine. She features an enclosed helm station, classic lines, and a comfortable open aft deck. At 34 feet, she’s spacious enough to enjoy but intimate enough to keep the experience personal.
Does the boat have a bathroom?
Geronimo is equipped with an onboard, fully enclosed head (marine restroom) for your comfort.
Is the boat enclosed? What if the weather is bad?
Geronimo features an enclosed helm station, which keeps your captain comfortable in any conditions. The aft deck is open-air, so guests can enjoy the breeze and the views. In light rain, the cruise typically proceeds — your captain will make a judgment call based on conditions. In the event of heavy rain or unsafe weather, we’ll reschedule (see our cancellation policy).
Is the boat wheelchair accessible?
We recommend calling us at 202-703-1141 before booking if any guest has mobility needs, so we can ensure the best possible experience aboard Geronimo.
Do you provide food and drinks?
We don’t — but you’re absolutely welcome to bring your own. Pack a picnic, bring a bottle of wine, grab coffees from The Wharf before boarding — whatever makes the cruise feel special for your group. We provide water onboard.
Is alcohol allowed on board?
Yes. You’re welcome to bring beer, wine, or spirits for personal consumption. We ask that all guests drink responsibly, and our captain reserves the right to address any safety concerns.
What should we wear?
Dress for the weather and layer up — it’s always a few degrees cooler on the water. Non-slip, soft-soled shoes are recommended on the deck. In summer, sunscreen and sunglasses are a must. In cooler months, bring an extra jacket.
What else should we bring?
Where do we meet you?
We depart from The Yards Marina, Washington DC’s premier waterfront destination. Your booking confirmation will include exact slip and meeting instructions. We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes before your cruise.
Where can we park?
Parking at The Yards is available but can hectic on game days or during special events, especially on weekends. We strongly recommend taking an Uber/Lyft, or a taxi. It’s much easier than dealing with parking and will let you enjoy the experience from the moment you arrive.
Is The Yards Metro accessible?
Yes. Navy Yards Station (Green/Yellow Line) is about a 10-minute walk from The Yards Marina. It’s our recommended option for visitors without a car.
What happens if it rains?
Light rain typically doesn’t stop us. Washington DC weather can be unpredictable, and a little drizzle usually doesn’t impact the experience. In the event of heavy rain, thunderstorms, or unsafe conditions, we will reach out to reschedule your cruise at no penalty.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please visit our Policies page for full cancellation and refund details. In general, we ask for reasonable advance notice for cancellations and try to work with every guest to find a rescheduled date that works.
Do you cruise year-round?
Yes, we operate throughout the year. DC is stunning in every season — from cherry blossoms in spring to snow-dusted monuments in winter. Our enclosed helm means your captain is comfortable in cold weather, though the aft deck experience is best enjoyed in warmer months.
Can I propose on the boat?
It has happened more than once, and we love it. If you’re planning a proposal, let us know in advance and we’ll help make the moment perfect. The Potomac at sunset with the monuments as your backdrop is a pretty unforgettable setting.
Do you do corporate events?
Yes. A private Reflections DC cruise is a unique and memorable way to entertain clients, reward a team, or host an off-site gathering. For groups larger than 6, contact us at 202-703-1141 to discuss options.
Do you do birthday or anniversary cruises?
Absolutely. Many of our guests book Geronimo for milestone celebrations. Bring the cake, bring the champagne, bring the people who matter — we’ll handle the rest.
